RESTORING OUR FOUNDATION:

A SPECIAL APPEAL FOR THE CLUBHOUSE UPKEEP AND REPAIR FUND

Since 1912, our clubhouse has been the home of our sisterhood. Today, we are called to a higher level of stewardship.

Preserving Our Architectural Legacy

Without our historic clubhouse, there is no Houston Heights Woman's Club as our members know and cherish it.

Whether you are a long-time member, a newer member just beginning your journey with us, or an admirer of historic preservation who values the unique character our clubhouse brings to the Heights, we invite you to stand with us. This building is not only the home of our friendships and outreach—it is an irreplaceable landmark. Our current legacy is anchored by a critical pier and beam foundation repair.

With repairs estimated at $75,000, this targeted campaign ensures the Club can meet this commitment without exhausting vital reserve funds.

 More information is available here.

Our Home, Our Responsibility: Why the Clubhouse Matters

While the siding, beams, and foundation make up our historic home, the true heart of the Houston Heights Woman's Club is its women. Without the building, we lose our gathering place; without our members, the building is just walls. They are inextricably linked.

Each decade of the Club has faced its own unique challenges—from wars to pandemics to financial difficulties—yet our foremothers pressed on, determined to pass our legacy from generation to generation, inspiring us all in the process and motivating us to bequeath the same to the women who will succeed us.

Today, keeping these doors open and these walls standing cannot fall to a handful of donors alone. It requires a collective investment from every member who calls this place their own, safeguarding both our sisterhood and our city's history.

Ways to Support

Your contribution is an act of stewardship. Just as our club flower, the Maréchal Niel Rose, requires careful tending to thrive, our historic clubhouse requires our collective care and commitment. By joining one of our donor levels, you are taking a direct, personal role in the preservation of our home.

  • Maréchal Niel Founder’s Circle: $5,000+
  • Harvard Street Cornerstone: $2,500
  • 1912 Legacy Builder: $1,000 (Honoring the year our historic clubhouse was built)
  • 1900 Preservation Partner: $500 (Honoring the year our Club was founded)

Every donation, regardless of size, is deeply appreciated and directly supports the stability of our clubhouse.
