On Wednesday, March 26, 2014, several of our members met at the clubhouse to stuff 100 toiletry bags for the women at Star of Hope Mission. The bags were delivered the next day to the SOH Distribution Center downtown.

Over the past 3 years, as one of the club’s on-going community service projects, dedicated members of the HHWC have made and distributed close to 1,000 toiletry bags for the women at Star of Hope Mission. Members of both the Heritage and Evening groups make up the roster of this volunteer effort. There are 3-4 ladies that sew the toiletry bags while the remainder collect and supply the contents.

This HHWC group, Sisters in Stitches, continues to work towards their goal of providing 100 bags to Star of Hope Mission each quarter. While the goal was achieved in the first quarter of this year with the delivery in March, the group needs our help as they have exhausted all existing supplies.

Donations of needed items as well as cash donations to buy the needed supplies would be greatly appreciated.

Here is a list of the items needed to place into each bag:

1. Travel size shampoo
2. Travel size conditioner
3. Travel size lotion
4. Toothbrush
5. Toothpaste
6. Deodorant
7. Travel size tissue
8. Bar soap
9. Razor
10. Comb
11. Prayer card

To donate items or make a cash donation, please contact Anna Gay at abgintexas@gmail.com.

If you are interested in joining Sisters in Stitches on this or other sewing projects, look for their next meeting date in our Events.
